Avon, etc...

My Avon weekends 2005 have come to a close, as the Denver walk was last weekend. It was really fun - the weather was good, the walkers were in good moods, the staff was great (I really like them), and the whole thing went off without a hitch (pretty much). Charlie turned 1000 as I drove through the route over and over again. He's dirty now, but recovering nicely. Perhaps when I have more time tonight, I'll mention a little about how weird it was to be sitting on a fineley manicured park hill that when I was growing up was part of the wild west. The growth is insane -- you know they have a dillards at Southwest plaza?! I'm telling you, it's weird.

New Series...

Okay, note the number of times that I've posted today. In fact, I'm pretty busy today, and would like to get a good couple solid hours of work done, but there are several cube etiquette violations that are preventing me from doing that. So far subjects 1-6 have been violated according to this article:

http://www.stc.org/intercom/PDFs/2000/200011_12-13.pdf

From now on, I think I will satisfy my general frustration about not being able to express my feelings on this matter with my co-workers by giving you a daily count of the cube-iquette violations, right here, in this blog.

Are you freaking kidding me now?

The supreme court, if I'm reading this correctly, just voted 5-4 to allow the city of new london to seize private property in order to build a mall. Economic devleopment (at any cost) is now a public benefit. Just FYI, in case you wanted to build a mall, but there were a bunch of middle class people in your way.

Photos

I took a picture of my new chair to share with everyone, but apparently, I can only upload to flicker to get this puppy up online, so you'll have to wait until I cave and do that. I was really hoping to have all my pics in one place (ofoto) so that people would always know where they were, but I think I'll have to move it al along. One night when I'm not being a big lazy person watching TV all night. :) Hope everyone is doing well :)

Bike to Work Day.

Everyone is sweaty and all bike-y. I brought Charlie to work today because I'm not a joiner.

Monday!

Back in the office. Very exciting. Mom and I watched Harry Potter last night and the house almost got struck by lightening. I'm not being dramatic, it sounded like the static ball that middle chools have to teach science when the annoying kid in the room has his hand on it and thinks it's hilarious to watch the spark jump from his hand to your braces: *SNAP*

Scary. Everything was fine though.

10:30 pm

I was asleep at 10:30 last night. I woke up at 4 am to some guy saying, "Breath through your nose. If you don't have a nose, breath through your pores." Surprisingly, I didn't panic. I actually thought it was some sort of wierd neighborhood thing. Turns out that I'd left the audio part of the TV on (they are seperate now), so, when TiVo started recording the yoga show, the audio turned on. Thank god it didn't record some midnight horror movie, or I would've been sleeping in the car.

To work!

Back at work...

Becky and Sam and Luke left this morning for Portland, where they'll stay for a while before heading to Wales. It was sad, but the good kind of sad: when you know you've had a really good time and been really lucky to spend so much of it with people (and dogs) you love so much. Now I'm going to pull it together and do my job, so that I don't lose the house.

They are my favorites...

So, I'm blogging, because that's what my big sisters are doing. They are the best.

I chose the name for a variety of reasons:
1) It was available
2) It's a wonderful principle
3) No one knows how to spell it
4) No one knows if it's attributed to the right person, but, it being the simplest explanation, I'm going with it.

It might take me some time to get warmed up to this blogging world, but I'll work on it.
